Confession time.  I swore I would not do it, but I have spent the last few weeks brooding over the fact that I will soon be entering my forties.  I know that age is just a number, but I just can't believe how quickly my thirties flew by.  My thirties have been my best decade to date and I am sad to see them go and although I welcome the next chapter of my life with open arms, I can't help but wallow and, well, feel a little blue.   

To celebrate my upcoming birthday, my fabulous friends joined me for a ladies weekend in Saratoga Springs, NY, which is one of my favorite places to visit.   I have wanted to visit Saratoga with friends for many years now and I am lucky enough to have some really special friends who were eager to join in on the festivities.  To say laughter is the best medicine is an understatement.  Spending time with this group of ladies was the perfect cure to my 40's blues. I think the only time we weren't laughing was when we were sleeping.  I am so grateful to have these girls in my life.  Our friendship spans several decades now and we have been there for each other though all the highs and lows in life.  We have grown up together, matured together and supported each other through thick and thin..  Although we don't get to spend as much time as we would like together, whenever we do see each other, it is like no time has passed at all and through their gift of laughter, I feel ageless.  I guess that is why old friends are the greatest friends. So, ladies thanks for an amazing weekend and thank you for loving me unconditionally, despite my many flaws.   I love and value your friendship more than you know.  Looking forward to the next annual ladies weekend!
