Fifty Years of Love | Extended Family Session

 I am such a sucker for love stories and nothing moves me more than being witness to a love that is deep rooted and has withstood the test of time.  As a child and even a young adult, I used to love to watch my grandparents hold hands and be a witness to their everlasting love .   They were not perfect, nor was their relationship, but there was something so strong and solid about them; they were unbreakable.  Now after being married for six years,  I have come to realize that my grandparents were not gifted that strong marriage...like every other couple, they built it with every trial and tribulation they faced in life and there is so much beauty in that.

I recently photographed a gorgeous couple celebrating their fiftieth wedding anniversary.  From the moment I started the session, it was so abundantly evident to me that they were still very much in love and it completely moved me; like I said, I am a sap.  I hope when I am married for fifty years, my husband and I radiate that same love and affection for one another and I also hope that I look as amazing as they do. 

The happy couple asked for one gift for their anniversary celebration and that was an extended family photo session of the entire family together.  It is so important to take the time to document your moments with your loved ones and it is especially important to photograph your children with their grandparents.  Here are a few of my favorite images from their anniversary photo session.
