Although the weather in August has been very tricky this year and I have had to reschedule most of my shoots due to rainstorms, I still believe that August is the ideal month to schedule a family session on the beach. The sun sets right over the shore line during this month and creates a magical sunset that is the perfect backdrop for your family photos.  

I recently had the opportunity to work with this beautiful family again. They are amongst the sweetest people I have ever met and simply exude love and positivity. I photographed their daughter as a newborn one year ago.  In fact, she was one of the first babies to be photographed in my brand new studio space. Prior to that time, I was only photographing newborns in client's homes.  I just love when families return for future sessions and I have the opportunity to see their children grow.; it truly is such an honor.    

We had the absolute perfect night for a sunset beach session.  Although the weather was warm, the beach was calm and the ocean breeze cooled us all off. Plus, the sunset was just spectacular.  We started the session with some posed images. I always like to get that one posed family portrait out of the way at the start of the session so we can spend the rest of the time playing in the sand.  I always want to capture you interacting with your children, whether it be hugging and kissing them or running around together.  Your family photos should represent you as a family in this very moment.

Dad must have been exhausted at the end of this session because he was running all over the beach with his sun and it was so great to watch. Mom was cuddled up with the baby, who I was told only wants her momma. Mom brought along her daughter's pacifier and her son's special blanket to the session and we made sure to capture images of them with those special items because those are the memories that you will want to hold on to.
