I absolutely adore maternity sessions and will never tire of them. Unfortunately, many women skip this milestone session and this is so very sad to me. Pregnancy is a time that is fleeting and that you will one day want to look back on. Whether this is your first baby or your last, you should definitely book a maternity session to document this special stage in your family’s journey together.

It is all about the bump

Pregnancy photos should be scheduled at around week 28-32 when your bump is showing. It is around this stage of pregnancy that any morning sickness subsides and it is right before the latter part of the pregnancy when things can get uncomfortable for some. Women tend to have the most energy around this stage and it is when that beautiful bump shows itself. Ultimately, you should plan in advance for these photos and choose a date that falls within this time range.

That pregnancy Glow

The pregnancy glow is not a myth. I know…I know.. sometimes you don’t feel your best when you are pregnant, but expecting mamas truly are stunning. Every pregnant woman deserves a day of pampering for a photo session so she can feel how amazing, beautiful and powerful she is.

Document the changing Family dynamic

I capture solo maternity photos of you, but I also want to document and preserve this stage of your family’s life. Let’s capture the older sibling and how excited he or she is about the new bundle of joy. Let’s capture the bond and love that you and your husband feel for each other and the excitement about this ew stage in life together. If you have a fur baby that is special to you, you can bring that pet along too. I always encourage my clients to bring along all family members to the session. After all, the more the merrier.

I promise you, there will come a time that you forget all about being pregnant and you will miss that time in your life. These photos will transport you right back to that special time. It is also important to show your children photos of that time they spent in your womb. It is something they will cherish for an eternity.
