Mornings in the Park | Oceanside Family Photographer
The last few days have truly felt like Spring days. The flowers are blooming, the grass is lush and green and the weather has been absolutely perfect. If you want a colorful and vibrant look to your images, Spring is a great time of year to schedule your family photos.
Although I love a good golden hour session, sunset is very late in the Summer months. Sunset isn’t until 8ish this time of year, so 7pm can be a challenging time for some babies. For those families, we can schedule early morning sessions at one of my park locations. You can still get fantastic and meaningful photos in the morning. So, for those of you who feel your little ones will not be in an agreeable mood at sunset, the morning session is for you.
I photographed this sweet family two years ago at the beach when there older son was one. For this session, they decided to go with a morning session to commemorate their second son’s first birthday. I suggest a few locations to them and they chose one of my favorite locations for the session.
I started the session with the posed/all eyes on camera images. I don’t capture many of these unless requested and I always try to do them at the start of the session when kids are most attentive. We then moved on to some more connected images and we used various locations at the park.
Wardrobe is an essential part of having beautiful images. I send a detailed wardrobe guide over to every client who books a session with me. Mom’s selection of a beautiful palette of pinks and blues for the session was perfect for Spring and looked amazing against the lush greenery of the park. The adorable knit onesie for the birthday boy absolutely stole the show.
We ended the session with a cake smash. Mom chose a classic bare bellied look, which I absolutely love for cake smash images. Sometimes babies dislike the texture of the icing on cakes, but this birthday boy dove right in and had a blast.
