Classic Grey First Birthday Session
I love my new studio here in Long Beach and I have been getting lots of use out of it over the past year. I have been making changes to the studio and will be adding more as the year goes on so that. can give my clients diversity in their gallery of images and also make them as comfortable as possible during their photo session with me.
I recently had the pleasure of photographing Mr. A for his big first birthday photo session. I seriously can't take how adorable this little boy is; I mean, just look at that big smile! Mom wanted a classic grey color scheme for her son's first birthday session. Because I love clean and uncluttered sets for children's portraits, I was thrilled that this was her vision. I also thought we could add diversity to her gallery by incorporating my handmade pallet board backdrop. I absolutely love the rustic look that this backdrop provides and it really was the perfect aesthetic to complement the adorable "Wild One" birthday shirt that Mr. A was wearing.
When it was time to move on to the cake smash, Mr. A was intrigued by the icing and kept waving it all around. I love when the birthday babies dig right into the cake and Mr. A did exactly that. I was able to capture lots of messy pictures of him with icing all over him; the messier the better for these types of birthday photos. Here are a few of my favorites from his session.
