Yay! It's a Boy | Natural In Home Newborn Photography

The morning after the recent nor'easter snow storm that dumped eight inches of snow in areas across Long Island was warm and mild. I woke up early that day to prepare myself to shovel my way out of mountains of snow, but instead, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that most of the snow had already begun to melt and the day felt more like Spring than Winter. In fact, it was the absolute perfect day to travel to Massapequa for a cozy and connected family newborn session. Besides, even if the snow had not melted, nothing would stop me from capturing the T family that morning, who recently welcomed their third baby, a boy, into their family.

I knew the T family because I photographed the big sisters last year for their holiday photos.  I knew that this session was going to be one that was filled with fun, laughter, love, and personality. What I love the most about traveling to homes for lifestyle newborn sessions is that I find they allow me to capture families in the most authentic and natural way possible. I love that during these sessions, I am able to capture those sweet moments that happen in between the poses, which allow me to capture each family in a truthful and organic way.  Furthermore, because each family and home is unique, each of these sessions have their own special personality.  

When I first entered the home, I was struck by how beautiful, bright and airy it was and I was greeted by the  sounds of Zac Brown playing in the background. There was so much love to capture during the session and the big sisters were so fun and cooperative. Baby G slept thought most of the session and I love that I was able to capture not only natural images of the family interacting with the baby, but also some polished portraits of baby too. You truly get the best of both worlds with an in home newborn session.
