Grandparents Session | Extended Family Session Photographer

My season of Spring family photography sessions is in full swing and I am loving every second of it. It is so refreshing to be outdoors again and most of the families I have photographs so far have been so fun loving and energetic. 

The beautiful sisters in this session gifted their mother a surprise  extended family session . I was thrilled and honored that they chose me to document this special moment for them.  I photographing larger families because there is always a fun energy and unique dynamic to these sessions and, of course, I absolutely adore capturing grandparents interacting with their grandchildren.

Extended family sessions are longer in length than regular family sessions.  This is because I not only capture the large family portrait, but also natural and relaxed images of the whole family interacting with one another and deadening on the session, it may include cousins, aunts and uncles, parents, and grandparents.  I don't only want to capture portraits for you, I want to preserve your memories. Although I typically schedule my family sessions right before sunset, this particular family chose the early morning for this particular session and I was happy to accommodate them.  We scheduled the session at a beautiful park and the photos abound with love.  

The session was scheduled for this past Saturday and during the days leading up to the session, the forecast predicted rain and clouds and, at first, we weren't sure if we would be able to proceed with the session.  When I woke up that morning, I was shocked because there was not a cloud in the sky and it was hot and humid. If this family felt the heat and humidity, they did not let me know and were happy as could be.  

Everyone in this family was an absolute delight.  It is obvious that they are a very close knit and loving family. The grandchildren in this family are so blessed to have not only doting grandparents, but adoring aunts as well.  I have so many images of the boys laughing and cuddling up to each member of the family. I really had a blast with them.
